The Vice Chairman of Osprey Housing Moray (OHM) says a new development in Lossiemouth marks the start of an ambitious building programme in the area over the next four years.

Barry Jarvis was speaking at the opening of four new flats at Shore Street, OHM’s first new development in Moray for five years. He said: “The demand for affordable housing in Moray remains strong and we are delighted to be building new homes again in the area. The Scottish Government has set an ambitious target across Scotland of affordable homes by the end of this parliament and £7m per annum has been allocated to Moray.

"OHM is keen to play its part and we aim to build 100 new affordable homes by 2020. Today is the start and an important milestone for the organisation."

OHM’s Chief Executive, Colin Hawkins, said:

We are already planning our next developments and we hope to be on site with new projects in Fochabers, Keith and Elgin in the near future. We are working in partnership with both the Council and Scottish Government to deliver our commitment of 100 new homes over the next four years."
